“KOKOPELLI” The
image of the humpbacked flute player is common throughout the
Southwestern US. Kokopelli is considered to be the “trickster”
or a symbol of fertility and luck. Humpbacks are often seen in
Kokopelli figures. These may depict backpacks of seeds, food or
ceremonial materials.
